Wii Day at the Library
Wii Got A Grant!
The library has received a grant from the State Library of Kansas for a Wii gaming system.  The Garnett Public Library will be sponsoring a "Wii Day" each month for individuals currently in the 7th through 12th grades.  Upcoming Wii Day events include:

  Wednesday, February 11 3:30-5:00 p.m. 
  Saturday, February 14 1:00-3:00 p.m.

There will be refreshments and prizes!

               STORYTIME FOR              

Storytime is held from September 9th through the school season, while school is in session. All preschool children are welcome to attend each Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in the Archer Room at the Garnett Public Library.
Garnett Public Library will be hosting a 5-week series of basic computer classes.  These classes are designed for the beginning computer user.  All classes will be taught on library computers. Please do not bring your own devices.
All classes will be at 9:00 a.m.  Enrollment starts on Monday, February 23rd.  The classes are free and may be signed up for on an individual basis. Space is limited. For more information call the library at (785) 448-3388.
March 5th  -  Computer Basics  - email tips and tricks, security issues, windows basics and  keyboarding tips.

March 12th  -  Internet Basics.  

March 19th -  Library Resources – Online catalog, downloadable e-books, free databases.

March 26th  -  Facebook Basics April 2nd  -  Pinterest Basics 

Did You Know...
During the 2014 the Garnett Public Library circulated 53,339 items, borrowed 4,264 items from other libraries for our patrons, answered over 1,150 reference questions, had 12,800 uses of our computers and public usage wifi, had 391 adults attend 28 programs, sponsored 95 programs that a total of 1,695 children and young adults attended.  On average, the library assists 110 people per day.

ELS Now Available at Garnett Public Library
The Garnett Public Library announces the acquisition of the Early Literacy Station, a comprehensive turnkey educational tool loaded with over 70 educational software programs for kids ages 2 to 8 years.  The purchased of this computer was made possible by an Institute of Museum and Library Services (MLS) Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Grant from the State Library of Kansas with additional funding through the Friends of the Garnett Public Library.  Please read newsletter for more information.


New Windows: Thanks to a generous grant from the Goppert Foundation, the Garnett Public Library has installed new windows in the library building.  The grant, made through the Garnett Community Foundation, completely funded the cost of the windows.
